Catholics must learn the truth about the Churches Stand Against Contraception!

In the Theology of the Body, a great work by John Paul II, all of the churches teachings on human sexuality are explained with great detail. This work is extremely beautiful to study and learn.  Christopher West is a laymen who has devoted his life to the Theology of the Body and he is a great resource to get answers to questions regarding our human sexuality. --  Use the link I have in my links section to go to his website.

There is genius in our Churches teachings.  Sadly many in the church work to undermine Her teachings on contraception.  Below is a statement some find difficult to accept and therefore work against; yet it is the teachings of our Savior because Jesus entrusted His church to the Apostles and their successors.   Jesus gave them the power to bind and to loose.  Jesus said in Matt 18:18, "Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven." That is an awesome promise. 

We have been given an authority that we need to take very seriously.  

The Church has affirmed that the illicitness of contraception is an infallible doctrine: ---  "The Church has always taught the intrinsic evil of contraception, that is, of every marital act intentionally rendered unfruitful. This teaching is to be held as definitive and irreformable. Contraception is gravely opposed to marital chastity, it is contrary to the good of the transmission of life (the procreative aspect of matrimony), and to the reciprocal self-giving of the spouses (the unitive aspect of matrimony); it harms true love and denies the sovereign role of God in the transmission of human life" (Vademecum for Confessors 2:4, Feb. 12, 1997).   Use this link to read this definitive teaching!!!!  When you get there, go to the section with the heading, 'The Teaching of the Church on Responsible Procreation and look at number 4.  For that matter read the whole document, it's excellent!

Barrack is wrong on Contraception!

In 1968, Pope Paul VI issued his landmark encyclical letter Humanae Vitae (Latin, "Human Life"), which reemphasized the Church’s constant teaching that it is always intrinsically wrong to use contraception to prevent new human beings from coming into existence. 

Contraception is "any action which, either in anticipation of the conjugal act [sexual intercourse], or in its accomplishment, or in the development of its natural consequences, proposes, whether as an end or as a means, to render procreation impossible" (Humanae Vitae 14). This includes sterilization, condoms and other barrier methods, spermicides, coitus interruptus (withdrawal method), the Pill, and all other such methods. 

The Historic Christian Teaching

Few realize that up until 1930, all Protestant denominations agreed with the Catholic Church’s teaching condemning contraception as sinful. At its 1930 Lambeth Conference, the Anglican church, swayed** by growing social pressure, announced that contraception would be allowed in some circumstances. Soon the Anglican church completely caved in, allowing contraception across the board. Since then, all other Protestant denominations have followed suit. Today, the Catholic Church alone proclaims the historic Christian position on contraception. 

Evidence that contraception is in conflict with God’s laws comes from a variety of sources you can discover with ease if you cared to do a little search.

**Note:  the Will of God does not sway to the will of the people.  This is why Jesus renamed our first Pope from Simon, which means reed - 'like a reed that blows in the winds of change- to Peter, the Rock, whom Christ built His Church upon.'

I'm all for education for our young people, encouraging abstinence until marriage, but I also believe that young people do things regardless of what their parents tell them to do and I don't want my daughters ending up in really difficult situations because I didn't communicate to them, how to protect themselves if they make a mistake. I think we've got to have that kind of comprehensive view that says family planning and education for our young people and so forth - to prevent teen pregnancies, to prevent the kinds of situations that lead to women having to struggle with these difficult decisions and we should be supportive of those efforts. That's an area where there should be some agreement."

Opposes abstinence-only education

Barack Obama is an original co-sponsor of legislation to expand access to contraception, health information and preventive services to help reduce unintended pregnancies. Introduced in January 2007, the Prevention First Act will increase funding for family planning and comprehensive sex education that teaches both abstinence and safe sex methods. The Act will also end insurance discrimination against contraception, improve awareness about emergency contraception, and provide compassionate assistance to rape victims.

Followers of Jesus can not work to elect a man who is not willing to protect all the babies that have miraculously survived an abortion. Barrack Obama is one of the few men alive who is in favor of keeping partial birth abortions legal; additionally he favors the destruction of all the babies that survive abortions at the will of an abortionist, and sadly he promotes the deadly and completely unnecessary research done on embryonic stem cells. Each of these stands is in-defensible for a follower of Jesus Christ. In prayer we must ask our Mother Mary about the pain and suffering of all these millions upon millions of mothers who suffer deeply on account of their abortion. We Catholics are not morally allowed to vote for Barrack Obama because he has promised to continue these immoral stands. This is non-negotiable and supporters of Barrack are complicit in mortal sin with their votes. The war though not something any man of sound mind favors, is not morally in the same category of non-negotiable.

After all we Catholics have been given by Pope John Paul the Great and our current Pope, Pope Benedict on the Theology of the Body, not one Catholic should support Barrack Obama on account of his stand on homosexuality. The Theology of the Body is the clearest argument there is for Christians to do all they can to see that Barack Obama is not our next President. The culture of death led in vast part by a media that fully promotes the illusionary concept of homosexual marriage is fully supported by Barrack Obama. This stand is an attack on The Lord and the Sacrament of marriage. We can not let this happen! Christians must unite and fight so these travesties of Justice never happen in America. God Bless America, Land that I love!

Can Catholics Vote for Barrack?

Those who accuse presidential aspirant Sen. Barack Obama of empty rhetoric must have missed his speech last July, recently made public, to the benefactors of the Planned Parenthood Action Fund. At that festive event, he was as sharp and specific as a scalpel.

"The first thing I'd do as president," he told a cheering audience, "is sign the Freedom of Choice Act. That's the first thing that I'd do."

The audience cheered enthusiastically. And well they might. As NARAL enthuses on its website, this act would "codify Roe v. Wade's protections and guarantee the right to choose for future generations of women."

In short, if we are to take Obama at his word, his first priority as president would be to serve an early death sentence on millions of unborn Americans.

Our Purpose in Opposing Barrack Obama

Before going any further, know that we as Catholics are called to love all people so this blog is not at all about hatred.  

Quite the contrary, we desire for all people to know that Deus est Caritas or in English, God is Love.   Yet as people of love, we must not sit silently and just watch as our country is on the verge of electing a man who has time and again shown us that he has views about life that are opposed to the teachings of Jesus.

We are writing this blog because we love our Lord Jesus, we Love our Lady His mother the Virgin Mary, and we love our country, the fifty United States of America. 

Our hope is for people to read our blog and to find information that proves Catholics are morally obliged to not cast their vote for Barrack Obama unless he publicly and fervently repents of his public opposition to life in the womb.  We believe that Barrack Obama has many political positions that are diametrically opposed to the teachings of Jesus Christ.  We will use Barrack's own public words and and his congressional votes to prove he stands in opposition to the Catholic way of life. 

For two thousand years Jesus has taught His church to both respect life and defend life from the womb to the tomb.  The purpose of this blog is to inform Catholics about Barrack's anti-Catholic views and to objectively prove that by voting for Barrack Obama, any Catholic would be complicit with mortal sin.  Knowing the truth will set us free. 

The sad truth about Barrack Obama is that he has vowed to work towards the destruction of human life by defending the "right" to abort a child in the womb.  If he were President when the bill to ban the gruesome practice of partial birth abortion was passed by congress, he would have vetoed the bill.  

Most disturbing of all is that Barrack Obama has defended the right of an abortionist to kill a child that has been born alive when the attempt by the abortionist to kill the baby in the womb has failed.  This is a blatant defense of murder.  Hope is a virtue whereby we can trust in God for our lives.  Is this the same hope Barrack Obama refers to in his public speeches?  If it is then why does he refuse to protect these little ones born in our world only to be snuffed out on the table they were born on?

In addition, he completely supports the deadly, dangerous, and unnecessary embryonic stem cell research.  This research by the way would tempt woman to allow their ovaries to be farmed out for their eggs.  There are other issues that will be discussed relative to our faith and our nation.  Our nation must not be led by this Senator from Illinois because he clearly has the wrong vision for a free America.
